The family of Mayra Victoria Corrales De Gutierrez, 38, is hosting a GoFundMe to cover funeral and memorial costs after her death in Guatemala.after the mother of five's death on vacation in Guatemala.
Corrales De Gutierrez was killed July 3 in a crash with an 18-wheeler in the city of Escuintla on the road to Puerto Quetzal, according to a report by the local radio station Emisoras Unidas Escuintla. She left behind five children between the ages of 5 and 21, according to the GoFundMe. "There are so many milestones she will not be there for, so many memories we had yet to make, all taken away in a matter of seconds," read the fundraiser.
The family held the funeral in Guatemala on Wednesday and plans to hold the memorial in the United States at a date yet to be set, according to the GoFundMe. A Facebook Live video shows the woman's casket decorated with butterflies and surrounded by flowers as mariachis sing.
