Halloween night in Harris County took a frightening turn after a father was shot in front of his home, possibly by someone wearing a Michael Myers -style mask, police told ABC 13 . The shooting occurred Friday night around 11:15 p.m. in the Northwest Side of the county. Authorities received several calls about gunshots being fired, including from the victim’s daughter. According to ABC 13 , the family identified the dead man as Eric Pait Jr. , 38.

Authorities are looking into whether the masked man might be the shooter. A sergeant with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office told ABC 13 that Pait’s estranged wife, who is also the mother of his children, was killed at her apartment in August. Pait was a person of interest in her death, the report states.
