A man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the stabbing his girlfriend to death in 2019 while she was trying to leave him, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said.

A Harris County jury this week found Kenneth Howard, 64, guilty of murder for the death of Pamela Pratt, 37, in 2019, according to court records.Howard had dated Pratt and convinced her to move to Houston with him, prosecutors said. The two were driving July 12, 2019, and got into an argument about her leaving him. During the fight, he stabbed her four times in the chest and neck.

Pratt was a mother of three, and Howard had been out on bond for an aggravated assault case where he was accused of shooting one of her sons, prosecutors said. Howard was also convicted in 1984 of stabbing his ex-wife seven times, prosecutors said. That woman survived.
