Houston hosting mega adoption event at George R. Brown with more than 1,000 rescue pets
More than 1,000 rescue cats, kittens, puppies and dogs from at least 14 shelters and rescues will be looking for new homes at the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 3-4 at the convention center .Houston is in the middle of a stray animal crisis, and local rescues are feeling the brunt of it
Houston is hosting a mega pet adoption event at George R. Brown Convention Center this weekend with $35 adoption fees for more than 1,000 rescue pets. which have worsened with staffing shortages and the lingering effects of pandemic pet returns as more residents return to a pre-COVID lifestyle.
