Houston high school baseball power rankings: Cypress Woods takes No. 1 spot
Grand Oaks moved up three spots to No. 5 in this week's Houston area high school baseball power rankings.The Houston Chronicle's weekly area high school baseball power rankings. Rankings are based on overall and recent performances, quality wins, strength of schedule and team accomplishments.The Wildcats remained unbeaten to start the week with a 5-0 win over Jersey Village before falling to Grand Oaks 7-3 to open the Ferrell Classic tournament.
The Oilers began the week by beating Clear Springs 8-2 in non-district before earning wins over El Paso Eastlake , Northwest Eaton , Frisco Wakeland and Denton Guyer , while coach David Rogers earned his 100thThe Grizzlies earned another four wins last week in the Ferrell Classic tournament. The Grizzlies lost their unbeaten record at the hands of Tomball in the tournament opener before winning four straight over Cypress Woods , Klein Collins , Cypress Ranch and Lake Creek .
