City Council voted Wednesday to hand over the reins for Hobby Airport’s food and beverage scene to a new company, ousting Pappas Restaurants for the first time in more than 20 years.

that includes The Spot, Killen's BBQ, SpindleTap Brewery, Starbucks, Longhorn Steakhouse, Yard House, Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, Throughgood and Clutch City Coffee. That line-up is tentative and could change.

City Attorney Arturo Michel said that is because the Attorney General's office has ruled such scores could taint the final outcome when the procurement process still is open. He and others have argued that Areas won because it offered a substantially higher share of revenue to the city.
