Houston artist Reginald Adams, who unveiled the"Absolute Equity" mural in Galveston to commemorate Juneteenth in 2021, is now participating on a six-city tour honoring the national holiday., sponsored by Capital One, which will feature muralists and artists in Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Miami and Philadelphia who will honor Juneteenth with murals all unveiled on June 19, 2023.
“To me, Juneteenth symbolizes liberation, emancipation and freedom,” Adams said in a release. “Without emancipation and the freedom to create and express myself openly, I would not be able to bring these types of socially conscious public art initiatives to the forefront of public discourse.”
