New planning laws means a controversial decision to allow houses to be built will have to return to committee

A Falkirk councillor says he "won't be bullied into any decision" as a controversial planning application returns for a fresh decision, two years after getting the green light.

Scottish Forestry also argued that Torwood’s woodland, which has shrunk over the years, should be protected from any further development. Today members heard that the agreement had not been formally signed before major new planning laws were introduced by the Scottish Government. After agreeing the procedure, Baillie Kerr said that he had already had emails about the new application.
