The inner-city home where Jesse Baird and Luke Davies were allegedly murdered by a police officer is reportedly being vacated a month on from their deaths.
Housemates of Jesse Baird to move out of rental home in Paddington, Sydney where he and his partner Luke Davies were allegedly murdered
Images supplied to the Daily Mail showed household items and furniture on the pavement outside the house this week. The other tenants reportedly applied for another rental property just days after Baird and Davies's deaths were confirmed.Homicide detectives are still in the process of piecing together critical information before the case goes to court.
Davies, who was Baird's partner but did not reside at the Brown Street terrace, is alleged to have not been the intended target of Lamarre-Condon's attack but was murdered after catching the ex-cop off guard when he arrived. Neighbours reported hearing three gunshots from the home just before 10am that morning, but news of the alleged murders did not break until two days later, on February 21, when police found several pieces of bloodied clothing and possessions belonging to the couple dumped in a skip bin in Cronulla.
In the meantime, Baird’s housemates are understood to have returned to a dishevelled home with upended furniture and spotted blood in the backyard which was mistaken for spillage from a beetroot can. NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb found herself at the centre of a media firestorm over her public response to the alleged double murder. Picture: NCA NewsWire / Nikki Short
