Though the voting is ongoing, Jordan has already lost at least ten Republican votes, ensuring he'd lose his bid for the speakership for a second time.
The House is casting the second-round votes for the next speaker Wednesday morning after Rep. Jim Jordan failed to win the speakership Tuesday when 20 Republicans voted against him.
A conference meeting hasn't officially been noticed to Republicans yet, but sources said that's the next expected step after the vote closes. "I think both questions should be called," Jordan said. "Let's get an answer. We've been at this two weeks, the American people deserve to have their government functioning."
