House Republicans continue to debate their pick for Speaker after their initial nominee, Rep. Steve Scalise, withdrew his name from the race after failing to secure the number of votes needed.
While an interim speaker pro tempore, Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., has been named, Republicans have been unable to agree on a replacement for McCarthy.However, 55 House Republicans said in that secret vote that they would not cast ballots for Jordan in a full floor vote for speaker and it's still unclear if he has the 217 votes he needs.
