A new stopgap spending bill proposed by House Republicans failed to pass, prompting Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to advocate for the revival of a previous bipartisan agreement.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., celebrated the failure of a new House Republican crafted stopgap spending bill on Thursday, telling reporters the initial short-term spending bill squashed by billionaire Elon Musk and President-elect Trump should be revived. 'It's a good thing the bill failed in the House,' he said after exiting the Senate chamber. 'And now it's time to go back to the bipartisan agreement we came to.

But the measure failed in the House, with some Republicans refusing to back it and Democrats uniting against it, many unhappy with Musk's apparent influence
