The House passed a bill today that reverses recent changes at the Post Office and boosts funding for the agency by rachsandl
The House was called back from recess for a rare Saturday session to vote on the “Delivering for America Act.”gives the Post Office a $25 billion boost in funding, requires election mail to be handled as first class deliveries, reverses any operational changes made this year and prevents the agency from making any future changes that could cause delays until the coronavirus emergency is over.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, a Trump donor, was appointed to the position in June and began implementing a series of cost cutting measures and proposed widespread organizational changes to help the agency save money. Democrats blame those measures for delays in some areas of the U.S., and worry that could lead to trouble voting in November. After backlash, DeJoy paused to the U.S.
