The House Oversight Committee will launch an investigation into Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, committee chairwoman Rep. Carolyn Maloney said late Monday, as the businessman has come under scrutiny for alleged campaign finance violations while at his former company, New Breed Logistics.

[+]DeJoy, a GOP fundraiser and Trump donor, allegedly pressured New Breed employees to donate to Republican candidates he supported and then used company bonuses to reimburse them, theDeJoy previously testified to the House that he had not reimbursed executives for donating to the Trump campaign, which would have been after the period from 2000 to 2014 when the New Breed donations reportedly took place., said the committee “will be investigating” the charges, noting that DeJoy may face “criminal exposure” both for the campaign finance charges and “also for lying to our committee under oath.” Maloney added the U.S. Postal Service’s Board of Governors should also “take emergency action to immediately suspend Mr. DeJoy, who they never should have selected in the first place.” DeJoy has been heavily criticized for his leadership of the USPS, as the postmaster general has imposedMultiple Democrats had called for DeJoy to be investigated in the wake of the
