MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has approved a bill seeking to increase the yearly service incentive leave of employees in the private sector from five to 10 days. House Bill 988 hurdled the third and final reading during Tuesday’s plenary session, with 273 representatives voting in affirmative, with no objections and no abstention.Authored by Baguio City Rep. Mark Go, the bill seeks to amend the Labor Code of the Philippines.

This amendment provides that every employee who has rendered at least one year of work shall be entitled to an annual service incentive leave of 10 days.
