The scheme allegedly involved Minnesota-based Feeding Our Future , a now-defunct child nutrition nonprofit. Seventy people associated with FOF in 2022 received federal charges over an alleged scheme to defraud the government of $250,000 in COVID aid, “After MDE, under Governor Walz, failed to respond to previous attempts by the Committee to garner information necessary to uncover how the Governor and the USDA allowed such fraud to occur, the Committee today is proceeding with a subpoena to compel responses,” Rep. Foxx wrote.
Subpoenas were also issued to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the department's Office of Inspector General.
