The committee said guidance from the Federal Election Commission on personal use of campaign funds “is often ambiguous and provides for significant gray areas of spending,” so the panelAmong 13 examples, the guidance laid out a hypothetical scenario in which a representative holds multiple campaign events at a local country club that offers members discounted event catering. Club membership requires annual dues payments.
