House Democrats prepare to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt and fast track lawsuits against Trump officials.
House Democrats said Thursday they are preparing to make it easier for their committees to go to court to challenge the Trump White House in their ongoing battles over documents, testimony and even President Donald Trump's tax returns.
In that vote, lawmakers will also approve language reaffirming committee leaders' ability to go to federal court to enforce their subpoenas with approval from a key bipartisan panel of congressional leaders, known as the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group. House Democratic officials familiar with the resolution and Tuesday's vote said it will apply to future subpoenas that have yet to be issued.
