The House Judiciary Committee announced two articles of impeachment today, charging President Trump with abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The committee will vote on the articles this week.
Schiff pushed back on his critics, explaining the urgency of the impeachment proceedings by noting that it would take months or years to resolve their disputes with the White House through the courts.
Judiciary's ranking member Doug Collins, R-Ga., said he expects Democrats will pass the articles of impeachment before Christmas. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham called the articles of impeachment "baseless," adding, "The President will address these false charges in the Senate and expects to be fully exonerated, because he did nothing wrong."
