While winds will be light this morning, they’ll pick up a bit this afternoon. But, it will do almost nothing to make the conditions any less stifling. The record high temperature in Trenton for July 28 — 98 degrees in 1940 — will be threatened. Forecasters expect the capital city to tie the record this afternoon.

Forecasters again advise people to stay out of the sun, to avoid strenuous activity and to drink plenty of water.National Weather ServiceSaturday will be about as hot with blazing sunshine, temps in the 90s and a real-feel of more than 100 across a large swath of the state. Unlike Friday, there’s a higher chance of some rain, including thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening. Heat advisories are already in effect for most of the state until 8 p.m.
