The Light Blues got their Europa League campaign off to a flier with Real Betis win while Celtic and Aberdeen stumbled
Rangers pulled off another big European win with their victory against Real Betis at Ibrox on Thursday.
Robert McNab, Dunoon, said: “The reason Scottish clubs are having big nights in Europe is purely down to Michael Beale's Rangers driving up the coefficient. There is next to no chance that they would have qualified off their own backs for their relevant competitions. Scottish football owes Rangers a debt of gratitude and what humility the club has especially after the way they have been treated over the last decade.
“We had the usual embarrassment from them in Holland this week and it’s likely they will be watching Coronation Street on Wednesdays and Rangers in the Europa League on Thursdays after Christmas, as per usual.” Alan McGaw, Alloa, said: “It was a well deserved win last night at Ibrox. When the goal went in, memories of great European nights came flooding back. I don’t know what was in their halftime cups of tea but it certainly worked. Great start to the Europa league campaign so now it’s on to Motherwell where league points matter.”
