On Thursday, District Wildlife Manager Adam Wallerstein was able to successfully find and tranquilize the deer in order to free her from the cage.
Hotchkiss police officers and District Wildlife Manager Adam Wallerstein worked together to rescue this doe on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025. Colorado Parks & Wildlife and Hotchkiss police teamed up to free a doe from a tomato cage.
Once tranquilized, Wallerstein and the police used bolt cutters to remove the tomato cage from around the doe’s body.
