MELAKA: Water supply to 900,000 households in the state will not be impacted during the forecasted dry spell in two weeks' time, says Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
The Melaka Chief Minister said that early planning had been made to ensure sufficient water supply in the state.
"We have a mechanism in place to brace for the forecasted dry spell starting next month," he said on Thursday , adding that dams and reservoirs in the state would be working at their maximum capabilities. Rauf said Melaka Waterworks Company-SAMB had also prepared its contingency plan to face any situation.The forecasted dry spell is due to the El Nino phenomenon.
