Hattie B's, a Nashville-born hot chicken restaurant, recently opened a new location on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas after temporarily closing during its move from Deep Ellum. Conveniently, the new Hattie B's is situated just down the block from Shug's , a popular local bakery known for its artisanal bagels.
To celebrate their proximity, the two businesses collaborated on a unique menu item: a bagel sandwich featuring Hattie B's signature hot chicken with a salted honey glaze and crispy bacon, all served on one of Shug's signature powdered sugar-dusted French toast bagels. Brian Morris, Executive Chef at Hattie B's, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, 'There's so much commonality between us and Shug's. We're both family businesses, and we're neighbors in Oak Lawn.' This collaboration presented a fun opportunity for both teams to step outside of their usual offerings and explore new culinary horizons. Glory Holland, Shug's Vice President of Human Resources and Creative, added, 'It's been fun for our team to collaborate with Hattie B's.
