Frankie Dettori has announced he will retire from horse racing, bringing an end to his glowing career spanning almost four decades.on Saturday and revealed the 2023 flat season will be his last.The UK-based 52-year-old, who started his career as a teenager, explained that he had been debating making the move for some time.
“It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a while and what an appropriate day to tell the racing world that it’s going to be my finale.”He also revealed he’d consulted his father, former jocky Gianfranco before making the decision.The Italian has been crowned Champion Jockey three times and rode all seven winners on Champions’ Day at Ascot in 1996.
