Short film released on 'devastating effects' of knife crime in West Yorkshire
Produced by West Yorkshire-based Sam Teale Productions, the film had its premiere in Mirfield last night, the film is designed to highlight the issue of knife crime, to educated around the issue and to encourage dialogue. Called 'Knives Claim Lives', the film highlights the real life stories of people who have been affected by knife crime.
In addition, the event featured a live performance by the Mirfield band, The Slates, who had an original song featured in the film. Sam Teale, said: "Seeing the devastating effects of knife crime first-hand has been heartbreaking. This film is our attempt to give a voice to those affected and to prevent further tragedies."
"This short film is a great example of how our local talent can help influence children and young people on themes such as knife crime and prevent them from becoming involved.
