Today, Mother's Day is being celebrated in the United States and many other territories. In celebration of the occasion, many users have taken to social media to celebrate their own mothers or mothers in general. However, some horror fans have taken the opportunity to make humorously subversive posts about iconic horror movie mothers including Mrs. Bates from Psycho, Rosemary in Rosemary's Baby, and Mrs. Voorhees in Friday the 13th.
Pregnancy is also fertile ground for horror films. Some movies like 2007's Inside harness the vulnerability of an in-utero child.
