ANTIOCH — One of two people critically injured in a fatal crash Friday night has died from injuries, authorities said Monday.
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office confirmed the death of that injured person at a hospital over the weekend. The other injured person remained hospitalized Monday, authorities said. All three were in the same vehicle.happened about 10:18 p.m. at the intersection of state Highway 4 and Lone Tree Way before it turns into A street, authorities said. A male died at the scene. Authorities did not release his identity, pending notification of his next of kin.
Authorities had no identifying factors on the second person who died pending identification and notification of relatives. According to police, one of the vehicles was going south on Lone Tree Way, when a vehicle exiting the highway and turning north onto Lone Tree Way collided with it. An undisclosed number of people in the other vehicle stayed at the scene and spoke to police, authorities said. No arrests were made.
