Honoring the generosity of a young man gone too soon | Opinion
“We always saw that kind, sweet, innocent person,” John says, “who took on some scars of years of struggling with autism.”
Yet he had a strong circle of family and friends, folks who fiercely miss his generosity and style, wit and compassion. They miss all the iterations of Mason — the precociously articulate toddler, the playful big brother, the cross country runner, the music buff, the Pokémon enthusiast, the sneaker head, the devoted foodie, the faithful child of God, the tattoo aficionado.
The organization quickly volunteered to help the McFarland family in honoring Mason’s legacy and has hosted the drive since it began in 2021.
