HONOR has officially launched the Magic V6, and it is clearly aiming to redefine what a premium foldable can offer in 2026. The device combines a slim profile with high-end hardware, including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform and one of the largest batteries ever seen in a foldable.

But the real headline here is durability. The Magic V6 is being positioned as the first foldable smartphone with an IP69 rating, alongside IP68 protection, making it one of the toughest foldables to date. That IP69 certification is especially significant. Foldables have historically struggled with water resistance due to their complex hinge mechanisms. By adding IP69 protection, designed to withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets under controlled conditions, HONOR is pushing the category into more rugged territory. For a segment often criticised for being delicate, this marks a meaningful shift toward everyday reliability. Recommended Videos Powering the device is a massive 6660mAh battery, easily one of the standout specs here. Foldables typically compromise on battery size to maintain thinness, but HONOR is clearly prioritising endurance. The phone supports 80W wired charging, 66W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging, offering flexibility and serious staying power for heavy users. What makes this even more impressive is that the Magic V6 remains remarkably slim at 8.75mm when folded and as little as 4.0mm when unfolded, weighing around 219g. Under the hood, it runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, ensuring flagship-level performance to match its durability focus. The display setup remains premium as well. Inside is a 7.95-inch LTPO 2.0 foldable panel with an adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate and up to 5000 nits peak brightness. It also appears nearly crease-free based on earlier leaks. The 6.52-inch cover display goes even brighter at 6000 nits, improving visibility outdoors. On the camera front, you get a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 64MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide, backed by HONOR’s AI Falcon imaging system. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, USB 3.2, and AI features powered by Google Gemini. The Magic V6 will go on sale in China later this month, with international availability expected in the second half of the year. Pricing details have yet to be announced, and the international release is still months away, in the second half of the year, so HONOR isn’t saying anything yet about pricing.
