Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index HSI, +0.37% added 0.4% to 17,997.17, while the Nikkei 225 Index NIK, -0.87% of Japanese companies weakened 0.9% to 33,242.59.
Shares of portable power tools firm Techtronic Industries 669, +4.08% and marine transport company Orient Overseas Intl 316, +2.94% gained 4.1% and 2.9%, respectively. Among Nikkei 225 Index constituents, passenger cars company Mitsubishi Motors 7211, +5.83% saw the largest increase Tuesday, as shares increased 5.8%.
