Honda is recalling 294,612 Acura and Honda vehicles due to a software fault in the fuel system computer that can cause sudden changes in throttle opening, leading to power reduction or engine stalling. The recall affects the 2022-2025 Acura MDX Type S, 2021-2025 Acura TLX Type S, and 2023-2025 Honda Pilot. The fix involves a simple software update.
Honda is having to recall 294,612 Acura and Honda vehicles due to a problem that can cause their engine to stall, with virtually no warning to the driver.
The problem has reportedly been sourced back to the computer supplier, Denso. According to reports, “the control logic for correcting air flow and fuel injection volume is incorrect.” This can cause a timing problem.If there's one reassuring thing, it's that it's not the engine itself that's problematic, but the software that manages certain of its functions.
