Police say the driver was fleeing police at the time of the crash.
Both Johnson and her boyfriend, 31-year-old Jabreel Butler, are hospitalized in critical condition, while the two children – a 16-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy – were injured in the crash and are in stable condition.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at Oxford and 57th streets, where Johnson and Butler were seen operating a Lincoln MKX with the two children, according to reports. Surveillance video captured the incident, where the vehicle crashed into a light pole and a wall near Overbrook High School. The vehicle was speeding in an attempt to get away from officers who were trying to capture Johnson, according to reports.
Gillian was shot to death July 29. Authorities identified Johnson and Butler as two persons of interest. At the time of the crash, Johnson had a warrant for her arrest in the shooting case, while Butler had an active warrant over prior offenses.
