Homicide detectives are investigating after the bodies of a man and a woman were found in their residence at a senior living facility in Santee on Sunday, a sheriff’s official said. Someone called 911 around 11:25 a.m. and reported that two people were dead at a residence on Lantern Crest Way just east of state Route 67, said homicide Lt. Michael Krugh. Deputies arrived at the Lantern Crest senior living complex and determined the two had suffered apparent head trauma, Krugh said.
The man and woman’s names were not immediately released, pending notification of their families, Krugh said. The lieutenant did not release the ages of the victims, who were described as elderly. Krugh said there were no outstanding suspects and he said investigators were trying to determine what led up to the two deaths. No other details were immediately available. Investigators asked anyone with information about the incident to call the homicide unit at 285-6330 or after hours at 565-5200.
