Paul Atherton, who has been sleeping in Heathrow Airport, said the council have refused to find him somewhere to stay
Paul said it has also been impossible to find out how to get a spot in one of the 300 hotel rooms the‘This is the problem right across the board, they just ignore you,’ he said. ‘We are considered an acceptable loss’.The letter to house rough sleepers was sent by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to homelessness managers and rough sleeping co-ordinators in every local authority. The government said councils would receive an extra £1.6bn to back the move.
He said: ‘It is laughable. Westminster Council have point-blank refused to help me as a homeless resident. I chased it up. But heard nothing further. Before he was homeless, Paul was a business owner who worked in IT and media marketing, and lived in the luxury Whitehouse Apartments, on London’s South Bank, with envious views of the capital.
