Texas Realtors report: San Antonio-area median home price rose 14.5 percent in ’21

Buyers snagged 42,053 homes in the San Antonio-New Braunfels metropolitan statistical area last year, a 4.7 percent increase from 2020, according to a report by Texas Realtors.Amid another record-breaking year for home sales and prices across Texas, the local housing market sizzled.

The number of homes sold fell 0.2 percent in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington area with 112,379 sales; rose 12 percent in the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land region with 111,115 sales; and increased 2.7 percent in the Austin-Round Rock area with 41,401 sales. Local inventory dropped from 1.7 months to 1.4 months and homes spent an average of 34 days on the market, 23 days less than in 2020.
