From today, films to be classified into five categories — U, P12, 13, 16 and 18 — says saifnasution
The classifications are ‘U’ for viewers of all ages, ‘P12’ , ‘13’ , ‘16’ and ‘18’ . Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the ministry had improved the existing film classifications implemented by LFP since 2012 by introducing the Film Classification 2023, which was gazetted through the Film Censorship Regulations 2023 on Jan 9.
Saifuddin Nasution said the Film Classification 2023 is expected to have a positive effect in streamlining and improving film classification standards in Malaysia to be on par with the classification or rating systems implemented abroad.
