A Watford home is set to be demolished to make way for construction plans after they were given the council go-ahead.

Watford Borough Council officially approved a planning application for two semi-detached houses in Woodmere Avenue on Thursday.Close friend of 'incredible' dad hospitalised in tragic M25 crash launches fundraiser

Drawings were amended during the planning process after it was decided that the home should be set back further from the road. The final proposal was then submitted in January.A council officer’s report assessing the designs said: “The proposed houses are considered to be appropriate in their scale and design and will sit comfortably within the street scene.

“The proposed render and brick elevations, clay roof tiles and white windows will reflect the existing materials seen on the surrounding houses. “As such, the proposal is considered to respond to local distinctiveness and contribute positively to the character and appearance of the area.”We want our comments to be a lively and valuable part of our community - a place where readers can debate and engage with the most important local issues.
