Witnesses at a Home Depot in Pleasanton, California, told cops that an employee was shot during a struggle with alleged shoplifters on Tuesday afternoon.
A Home Depot employeewas shot and killed inside the store while trying to stop a theft on Tuesday, authorities said.
Officers responded to calls around 2:15 p.m. of a man bleeding inside the store on Johnson Drive in Pleasanton, theResponding officers rendered aid to the victim, who was then rushed to a nearby hospital, police said. Witnesses reported that the victim attempted to stop a theft in progress and was shot during a struggle, according to the department. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle following the shooting.
