Aaron Garcia of Holy Cross named Express-News boys basketball Player of the Week
Player of the Week Aaron Garcia , Holy Cross : senior, guard – Garcia posted two 40-point performances last week for Holy Cross . Against Schertz John Paul II, Garcia logged 40 points, eight rebounds and six assists. He also had 40 points, eight rebounds and nine assists against Corpus Christi John Paul II. Garcia averaged 34 points per game in the Knights ’ 3-0 week. Game balls Brennan ’s Camden Cowgill scored 26 points in a 89-51 win over Stevens , going 6-of-14 from three.
Cowgill also made his 400th career 3-pointer in that game. Madison’s Jordan Clay recorded a double-double in a 66-58 win over Brandeis, scoring 22 points with 19 rebounds. Jay’s Camrin Garza logged a triple-double with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a 98-66 win over McCollum. Garza also had three steals. Lytle's Chase Guevara had 33 points in a 79-73 win over Jourdanton. South San’s Kevin Settles scored 25 points in a 73-72 overtime win over Harlandale.
