You might understandably think that outdoor ice skating isn’t an option for folks who dwell in the desert, but happily, this is not the case.
Five ice skating rinks will be open for the 2022 holiday season throughout metro Phoenix. Some are made of real ice and others are synthetic, but all offer the chance for newbies, experienced skaters and everyone in between to enjoy a beloved cold-weather tradition. If you want to give ice skating a try this year, you can do just that at these pop-up rinks in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa and Glendale.Winter Wonderland Ice Rink in Mesa
With 6,000 square feet of real ice ready and waiting, the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink is a great opportunity for skaters of all skill levels to enjoy some holiday fun. Admission includes a one-hour session and skate rental. Bring your own socks. Register online ahead of time and buy tickets for a specific time; a limited number of walk-up registrations will be accommodated.Through Jan. 7; closed Dec. 25.
