A dark wizard stands in front of Hogwarts
Before its launch back in 2023, Hogwarts Legacy found itself at the center of mass controversy as a direct result of the alleged transphobic remarks made by Harry Potter author, J.K.
Rowling. However, since then, the Harry Potter-inspired RPG has also left players disappointed due to its lack of post-game content. Other than a small summer update which offered a handful of cosmetics, Avalanche Software is yet to release any DLC expansions for Hogwarts Legacy, leaving fans dismayed by the lack of content as a whole in the open-world RPG.
As such, it has been left to fans to come up with their own new and exciting content that helps keep Hogwarts Legacy alive three years on from launch. Not only that, but with Avalanche Software now hard at work on the sequel, it seems as though fan-made mods are the only content we are going to see in Hogwarts Legacy from now on.
From multiplayer mods to mods that add heaps of lore-friendly cosmetics, fans have been busy, but there is one mod that has been requested more than most. Since its launch, fans have been calling out for a first-person mode for Hogwarts Legacy, much is the fate of many third-person RPGs.
However, with the RPG being solely locked to third-person, it has been left to fans to come up with ways to give their fellow players what they want and, as such, there are plenty of first-player mods on the market. Now, according to one player over on r/HarryPotterGame, Hogwarts Legacy is best experienced in first-person, and hopefully, this sentiment could see the option added in the highly anticipated sequel.
"Hogwarts Legacy is soooo much better in first person," their post begins. "Please try it. A big screen helps. For those who like to slow down and take a really good look at the world building, I recommend the first person mod via the official in-game modding option.
The game gets so much better. Much more magical, atmospheric. Also, gameplay wise. You can hide behind a rock, stealth, like Skyrim, and actually feel like you need to look carefully.
It's so much more immersive.
" Explaining that playing Hogwarts Legacy in first-person allowed them to enjoy the game a lot more than they had originally, it seems as though the sentiment was shared by fellow fans, who took to the comments. "The camera for third-person] is terrible anyway," one comment read. "I always felt my vertical view was obstructed even looking at basic thing. If you take away the"Harry Potter", this is actually a pretty terrible game.
" However, another felt inspired by the recommendation, sharing,"I've had this mod installed for a long time, but totally forgotten about it. You've inspired me to try it out again! It's just amazing what the modding community has done for this game.
" Another user believes that first-person is always best, adding,"I usually play games first-person if it's available, even Red Dead Redemption 2, which most people don't like. I feel it's always more immersive. That being said, I play on a console, so I cannot mod.
