The 'Today' show host stopped by as Kelly and Meghan Trainor were rehearsing a song.
anchor can be seen sneaking up on an oblivious Clarkson, 42, and Trainor, 30 -- clearly immersed in a conversation. Within tow, Kotb approaches the pop singers quietly as audience members burst out into applause at the random appearance from another NBC personality. both shoot at the famed 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, making a surprise crossover bound to happen from time to time.
Before heading out, Kotb quickly snaps a pic of her girls with the two singers and graciously thanks Trainor and Clarkson for allowing them to visit during filming. The episode featuring the"Dear Future Husband" singer aired on Monday and while Kotb's cameo on set did not make the final cut, viewers were treated to a special version of"Kellyoke" with Trainor and Clarkson. In honor of the 10th anniversary of the release of Trainor's hit song,"All About That Bass," the duo recreated the song to kick off the show. "Not only did I think about it, I slipped important notes.
As for Bryan, 47, and Seacrest, 49, they shared that Trainor -- who recently appeared on the show in a mentor capacity -- could absolutely be the one to fill the seat left by Perry, 39, in just a few weeks time. The"Wide Awake" singer Seacrest agreed, saying,"She was very good. Meghan is a super talent, too, and she's got a great sense of humor. She's fun and she's spontaneous."
