KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit breached the RM2.99 level against the Japanese yen last seen in June 2015 in early trade on Tuesday.
KOTA KINABALU: A contractor and headmaster pleaded not guilty at the Special Corruption Court here Tuesday to charges of falsifying documents to obtain payment for school supplies six years ago.Contractor Rasnah Majuan, 49, was charged with using false documents submitted to a school in Pitas, Kota Marudu in November and December 2018.
The documents were allegedly used to obtain payment for the supply of counselling guidance tools, test paper supplies, resource centre supplies and office supplies with a total value of RM9,667. Rasnah was charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code punishable under Section 468 of the same legislation, which carries seven years' imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.The second accused, headmaster Abd Rasad Sadikir @ Sadikil, 55, faced four charges of using false documents from October to December 2018 in the general office of the school where he worked in Pitas, Kota Marudu.
He was also charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code, punishable under Section 468, and Section 107.Both accused were also ordered to surrender their passports to the court and report to the nearest Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office once every two months.Customs Dept seizes drugs worth RM5mil near Sg Buaya interchange
