BREAKING: Hit-and-run outside Darwen pub leaves man in 'serious' condition
A man has been taken to hospital with 'serious' head injuries after a hit-and-run incident outside a pub.
Lancashire Constabulary said it was reported a pedestrian, a man in his 20s, had been struck by a Nissan Note outside the The Anchor pub and the driver had failed to stop. He was taken to hospital with head injuries and his condition is described as 'serious but stable'.A 49-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He remains in custody for questioning and police are appealing for information.
Another said: "Hope the person in the ambulance is okay! Must be serious for the amount of emergency service that was there."A force spokesperson told LancsLive: "We were called to Blackburn Road, Darwen, at 12.42am today following reports of a road traffic collision. It was reported a male pedestrian had been struck by a Nissan Note and the driver had failed to stop.
