A historic Spanish-style home with a stone exterior just hit the market for $2.4 million in Olmos Park — and a trailblazing woman developer was behind its 1927 construction.

Amye Bozarth shook up the burgeoning real estate market of 1920s San Antonio, armed with a business slogan was that she built"homes, not houses." She earned accolades for bringing a"woman's touch" to a male-dominated field,

A grand staircase in the foyer features a rope railing, a signature of Spanish Colonial revivalists such as legendary SA architect Atlee Ayers, a collaborator of Bozarth's. Also in view immediately upon entering the home, ornate carvings frame an arched doorway and a large fireplace in the living room. Similar carvings continue in the nearby dining room, framing the stucco walls with added texture.

Throughout the house, textures and patterns interplay in a distinctly bougie-bohemian fashion. However, contrasting with the historic details throughout, bold jungle-patterned wallpaper greets the eye in the master bath and offers a more contemporary touch.
