Huntingdon Cinema’s Clifton 5 owner Dave Peoples has listed the historic property and business for sale with a local Realtor but said his first priority remains to keep the theater open.
, the Huntingdon Cinema’s Clifton 5 theater at 717 Washington St. is currently listed for $299,800.
Over the past several months, owner Dave Peoples said the Clifton theater has been able to remain open thanks to donations and fund-raising events. Although the theater remains for sale, he said keeping the movie house in operation is what’s most important to him. And one of those options includes finding someone who’s interested in joining the theater business to keep the Clifton 5 operating.Broker Renee Starr said the property would be ideal for someone who dreams of saving and operating the historic theater. The property is listed with Starr and Associates Realty of the Huntingdon area.
Starr said there could be possible development changes for the building with or separate from operating a theater, which included a dinner theater or a sports bar that would showcase sporting events in one of the movie rooms.
