A charity watchdog has confirmed it is reviewing serious allegations of money laundering and fraud by the Hillsong Church which were raised in parliament on Thursday.
Mr Wilkie raised the allegations using parliamentary privilege and presented a trove of financial documents he claims were provided to him by a church whistle-blower.

In a statement to the newspaper the Guardian Australia, a church spokesperson said Hillsong was “a different church now than we were twelve months ago.” "We have filed our defence and will provide evidence at the appropriate time. We cannot do so at this stage due to the ongoing legal case … We are fully cooperating with regulatory authorities as part of their enquiries," they added.
