Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is now also an Emmy award-winning producer.
Clinton, along with her daughter Chelsea, were producers on the documentary In Her Hands, which was the first out of their production company, HiddenLight Productions. The film is available on Netflix after a Toronto International Film Festival premiere. It won the Emmy on Thursday at the News and Documentary Emmy Awards, with each Clinton receiving their own statuette.In Her Hands tells the story of Zarifa Ghafari, the first female mayor in Afghanistan, detailing the 19 months before the U.S.
Ghafari was a vocal opponent of former President Donald Trump and his policies concerning her country. As for the other Emmy award ceremonies, the Daytime Emmy Awards was postponed indefinitely, and the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony has been postponed for four months due to the ongoing strike in Hollywood with actors and performers. Last year, the Emmys took place in September. The 2023 ceremony is now scheduled for January 15, 2024.
