Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton claimed that Russians are already 'adept at interfering' in elections and could strike again.
Clinton appeared for an interview on Inside with Jen Psaki that aired Sunday to warn that Russian election interference needs to be discussed more. She offered her own explanation for why Russian President Vladimir Putin does it, saying he hates America and democracy as a whole.“I fear that the Russians have proved themselves to be quite adept at interfering and if he has a chance, he’ll do it again.”@HillaryClinton on Putin’s potential election interference in 2024 pic.twitter.
The former secretary of state lost her presidential bid in 2016 to Donald Trump. Clinton said in the interview that Putin got involved in that election because he didn't want her in office. "We have to reject authoritarianism, we have to reject a kind of creeping fascism almost of people who are really ready to turn over their thinking, their votes to wannabe dictators, and we can’t allow that to proceed," Clinton said.Clinton has seemingly given up on political office since her loss to Trump. She was most recently at the White House earlier this month to attend the Praemium Imperiale award ceremony.
The Praemium Imperiale Laureates were first celebrated at the White House by Clinton and her husband, then-President Bill Clinton, in 1994.
